My daughter just turned 4 and loves her long hair. I've contemplated so many times cutting it because brushing has been a terrible experience for all of us, even trying to do it in her sleep.
I would spend 3 hours every few nights once she fell asleep trying to brush through her hair and get it styled to last a few days without needing to be brushed just to get by. Even then, some nights were just impossible. She'd wake and scream from it hurting. I'd wait until she'd resettle to try again.
We've only had this brush 2 weeks and the overwhelm for us both has almost vanished. I truly believe if we didn't have the prior experiences brushing .. we wouldn't have any hesitation now. It's not the experience now, it's rebuilding the trust and safety on brushing with this MAGIC brush she tells everyone about.

The pick on the end is amazing. Works do well for those tough tangles. My daughter hates her hair being brushed but will let me do a bit of her hair with this. I don’t try to push as per the suggestions that came with the purchase (very helpful). We also put stickers on it and she loved doing that too. So thankful we found this brush!
I found it to be an average brush nothing special
I had been eyeing this brush for my daughter for several months. She has Level 1 ASD and hates having her hair brushed. She's been really wanting to grow her hair longer and i've been resistant knowing that it will require more time under the brush. First time we used the Knot Your Typical Brush she actually asked me to keep brushing!!! Not only does she tolerate it now, but she actually enjoys it and I do too. Its become a morning moment of getting ready for school that I really look forward to now. Thank you! If you're on the fence, try it!

This hair brush has worked pretty well for my kids. My two most sensitive children still find it hurts a little, but it has been a lot easier to get their hair brushed (and they can have some really impressive knots!) I can't say that it's perfect, but it was still worth the purchase for my household!
It was always a battle brushing my daughter's hair since she was young. In the last few years it had gotten worse. I wasn't sure what to expect of this brush, but the reviews seemed good.
The first time we tried it out it was like magic. No more tears, and she actually wants her hair brushed. She is learning to brush herself too. As an ADHD parent, I also love this brush. Eventually I want to get another one. Thank you for making this brush.

It's been a game-changer for my son and granddaughter!
Best brush ever. It was a struggle every day brushing my granddaughter's long hair. Now she's able to brush it for the most part on her own. It's soft on her scalp and virtually no pulling or tugging trying to brush out the "bird's nest" at the back of her head.

I bought this brush, saw the ad and read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. My 5yo daughter hates having her hair brushed, she hates everything about it. The sound, even watching someone else get their hair brushed bothers her.
This brush glides through her hair in a way NO other brush has (and I’ve got a whole bunch of other “detangling” style brushes from other brands). I can brush her hair quickly and without tears!! And best of all it leaves the hair silky soft and shiny thanks to the bristles.
I would definitely buy this brush again !

The boar bristles woven through the nylon bristles detangle hair more gently than a brush with only nylon bristles. My daughter’s hair is left smooth and frizz free as well—another benefit of the boar bristles. I also like how sturdy this brush is. It’s much better quality than the other sensory hair brushes we purchased a few years ago.

I had no idea you were so new! We are definitely one of the first 1000 brushes sold. We’ve had our brush for about a month and it has changed my life, my kid still dislikes getting her hair brushed, but it no longer hurts her! She’s 10 yrs old so I think she still expects it to hurt because even though I try my hardest, it would hurt her when I brushed her hair before. Now when she cringes I remind her “remember it pulls but doesn’t hurt” because it doesn’t! I don’t even have to hold her hair by the root and brush her hair down my arm anymore! It’s expensive but if you have a nurospicy kiddo, especially with longer hair, try this brush!!!!!!!
After years of struggling with brushing aversion, sensory overload, and intense daily meltdowns around hair brushing. My daughter now actually looks forward to brushing her hair each morning. Wish we had discovered this sooner!
What a difference this brush makes. Hair brushing was always a chore with my neurodivergent 5 year old daughter. I had tried every brush imaginable and used various detangling sprays and she would always scream & cry and say it hurt. We've used it twice so far and she sat still while I brushed her wet hair and then sat still while I brushed her morning bed head out. No tears, no words just silence. It feels like a miracle. Thanks to who ever created this.

I bought this out of desperation for my AuDHD kiddo who was crying when we brushed their long hair. Since this came in the mail, brushing hair has been an almost pleasant experience. It's a win, for sure!

My daughter (5) has sensory processing issues and is highly resistant to grooming, especially hair brushing and washing. Most days, she refuses to left me brush her hair at all. I was skeptical that this brush would be helpful for us, but after learning about how it was created by a mom of a child with similar issues and reading many glowing reviews, I took a chance and I am in disbelief. We’ve had it for 3 days and it has already changed things dramatically for us! She was so excited about the brush, she took it and disappeared into the bathroom for 30 MINUTES brushing and styling her own hair!! She usually can’t tolerate 30 seconds! It has also transformed her hair from unmanageable to silky (we did use detangler but it never produced results like this before.) She is very happy since brushing doesn’t hurt, and I am very happy because we leave the house looking neat and tidy! I would highly recommend this brush, definitely worth the price.
