We have 4 neurodivergent girls, ages 5-9, all with very thick hair past bum-length. Detangling in the past has been a nightmare, especially for the youngest two, and we go through bottles of salon quality leave-in detangler. A process they dread each day. Our previous brushes were the gentle version of the tangle teezer - gentle, yes, but highly ineffective for the girls’ thick & tangly hair. Sometimes it would actually take a good hour & screentime to work through a big mess!

My daughter just turned 4 and loves her long hair. I've contemplated so many times cutting it because brushing has been a terrible experience for all of us, even trying to do it in her sleep.
I would spend 3 hours every few nights once she fell asleep trying to brush through her hair and get it styled to last a few days without needing to be brushed just to get by. Even then, some nights were just impossible. She'd wake and scream from it hurting. I'd wait until she'd resettle to try again.
We've only had this brush 2 weeks and the overwhelm for us both has almost vanished. I truly believe if we didn't have the prior experiences brushing .. we wouldn't have any hesitation now. It's not the experience now, it's rebuilding the trust and safety on brushing with this MAGIC brush she tells everyone about.

I had my doubts as my daughter wasn't that picky about brushes but she did whine about me brushing her hair. She complained about the colour at first but once she started using the brush she loved it. Now she doesn't mind me brushing and will even do it herself.
My daughter has struggled with hair brushing her whole life, and often no matter how gentle I try to be we wind up in tears and a meltdown from the pain she experiendes with normal brushes. When we first tried this brush at home she lit up and exclaimed I can hardly feel it at all! Would recommend to anyone looking to help accomodate their child and make their lives easier.

This brush actually works! Now I am hopeful that my neurodivergent child can grow her hair long again; we cut half of it off lately due to the fights we were having just brushing her hair.. now she can have the chance for a long hair again ❤️

Hair brushing for my daughter with autism has been an ordeal for as long as I can recall. Tears, fights, even cutting away stubborn tangles with scissors on occasion. My daughter has extreme sensory sensitivity to hair brushing. This is brush number 7 that we have tried, and it's the ONLY brush that I have used, and she has said, "I didn't feel that!" We now call it our Magic Brush. Helping my daughter take care of her hair is now something we bond over together, instead of something she avoids because of the pain and tears. I HIGHLY recommend it! Wow…. These brushes are magical. My daughter hates getting her hair brushed. We tried wet brushes and normal brushes and she always said it hurt even if I was super careful and started at the ends. With these brushes she doesn’t flinch!!
This hairbrush is AMAZING! As a person on the Autism spectrum, this product really helps me keep my hair neatly brushed and de-tangled. I used to hate brushing and de-tangling my hair, but now it's much easier to manage with this helpful hairbrush. I highly recommend this product for those who want to look nice and neat, but HATE the process.
It has always been a fight to brush my daughter’s hair! She is 15 and was recently diagnosed level 1 autistic. She has been researching autism a lot and so when I found this brush I showed her. She was excited that it was created by autistic individuals so they knew how she felt! When it arrived she immediately ripped it open and tried it! She told me that this was the best money I had ever spent and that she loved it! She has willingly brushed her hair everyday since we got it!! This had been a game changer!! Thank you soo much! I got this for my 4 year old granddaughter on the spectrum with sensitivities. It was as advertised, no tears for the first time for her, we can even brush her hair without detailing spray. I bought one for my other granddaughter even though she doesn't have the same challenges, just a good hairbrush
Bought one. I used it on our 4 granddaughters that live with us. Long tangled hair brushes out easily even on mats. It is the best brush.
Bought 3 more. Left one at our cottage and gave one to our daughter who has 2 daughters with long tangled hair. And left one with our 12 year old.
Bought 3 more because the brush is amazing but seems to want to hide all of the time.
Labeled the brushes and they must stay in the room that they are labeled for!
If you could invent a way for the brushes to be trackable that would be great.
my daughter can actually brush her hair without having a meltdown over what brush she uses. bristles feel great and makes her hair look nice and smooth
The pick on the end is amazing. Works do well for those tough tangles. My daughter hates her hair being brushed but will let me do a bit of her hair with this. I don’t try to push as per the suggestions that came with the purchase (very helpful). We also put stickers on it and she loved doing that too. So thankful we found this brush!
I found it to be an average brush nothing special
I had been eyeing this brush for my daughter for several months. She has Level 1 ASD and hates having her hair brushed. She's been really wanting to grow her hair longer and i've been resistant knowing that it will require more time under the brush. First time we used the Knot Your Typical Brush she actually asked me to keep brushing!!! Not only does she tolerate it now, but she actually enjoys it and I do too. Its become a morning moment of getting ready for school that I really look forward to now. Thank you! If you're on the fence, try it!

This hair brush has worked pretty well for my kids. My two most sensitive children still find it hurts a little, but it has been a lot easier to get their hair brushed (and they can have some really impressive knots!) I can't say that it's perfect, but it was still worth the purchase for my household!
It was always a battle brushing my daughter's hair since she was young. In the last few years it had gotten worse. I wasn't sure what to expect of this brush, but the reviews seemed good.
The first time we tried it out it was like magic. No more tears, and she actually wants her hair brushed. She is learning to brush herself too. As an ADHD parent, I also love this brush. Eventually I want to get another one. Thank you for making this brush.
